A gold cameo brooch of ‘The Three Graces’. Hard cut from a sea shell (usually in Italy) this is a very skilled technique. The upper lighter layer is carved to reveal the darker layer below to give a clear contrast between the white and brown. The gold edge is gently curved to fit the cameo edge and has a wire decoration. There is a brooch pin with safety catch and also a hinged pendant loop which could have a chain fitted to wear as a pendant. Weight approximately 9.8g. Dimensions approximately 45.4mm x 48mm.
